Vanity URL
Make it easy for people to find your Facebook page— choose a custom URL for your page. If you have 25 or more fans, Facebook now offers the option to customize your URL, rather than having a messy mix of letters, numbers and symbols. If your company’s name is Shoe Store, change your Facebook URL to www.facebook.com/shoestore. If you have a common company name, the URL may already be taken, but be creative and you will be able to find one unique to your company.
The benefits of creating a custom URL are twofold. If you send out an email or electronic newsletter to customers, clients, vendors or potential customers, the link pointing to your Facebook company page will be easily recognized. Secondly, if you send out print materials which require people to type in a URL in the navigation bar, a custom URL makes is simple for a person to find your Facebook page. Keep the URL short and concise, and make sure it aligns with your company’s branding.
